Christmas Day

The day started off with our own Christmas morning.  We woke the kids up at 8:00.
(I am still searching my computer for those pictures.)

My parents and Kim arrived at 9:00 to give their gifts.
The only thing Owen consistently asked for was a dinosaur game.
When he opened it, he literary started to cry happy tears.  It was adorable.
He also got another game and Legos.

He gave my dad the biggest hug.  Look at his legs.  He was thrilled.

Liv got a rose gold watch, lipgloss, shirt and scarf.  Just what she wanted.

Rylie got a huge surprise.  An American Girl doll.
She was so surprised.  Her name is Grace and she is from Paris.

Dru got a couple of Alex and Ani bracelets and a scarf.
Thanks mom, dad and Kim for another amazing Christmas!

Next up, Christmas at the Martins.
We missed Aunt Ade and Uncle Loren, Aunt Rayne and Uncle Tom!!!

Owen got these cool dino rings in his stocking.

He loves Legos and Star Wars so this set was perfect!

Liv got a beautiful Necklace from New York and a sweater.

Dru got a cute bag to take babysitting and joggers.

Owen was thrilled to open up this one.  His very own scooter.

He loved watching Hazel open up her gifts.

What a wonderful Christmas.  We love being part of the Martin family!

 Back to the Fentons!
My mom made her famous Christmas brunch.

The grandkids did a book exchange and the adults did the white elephant game.  It was perfect.

We ended the night with a talent show.
Uncle Ryan's talent is teasing.

Winston and Henry showed off their awesome art.

Bubba played a medley.

Dru and my dad recited the "Touch of the Master's Hand" together by memory.

Owen sang a couple songs from school.

 Cooper played the piano.

Darcy played as well.

Boden sang a primary song.

Fenton Christmas tradition

December is jammed pack with fun traditions.
One of our favorites is Christmas pjs and the nativity.
The Fenton family is growing and the cousins are in heaven.

 Face Time with Heidi.
We love and miss her!

When I say "smile" with the camera in my hand uncle Bubba
usually closes his eyes or makes this face.

We had a fun new surprise this year...SANTA CAME!
The kids were beyond thrilled.

Everyone got a turn on Santa's lap and got a chocolate bar.
He was THE BEST Santa!

December weekend

Dru wanted to surprise one of her best friends with a party!
She bought most of the supplies and invited all their friends.
Her theme was glow in the dark.
Her invite said Let's "glow" crazy.
We met at the church and surprised Ellie.
They ate, played games and ran around and got super sweaty.
Dru has AWESOME friends!

Hiding before the big surprise.

We also went swimming.
Owen has been begging to go for weeks.
We had the place to ourselves.

We went sledding down our stairs later that night.

New York!

Taunya invited me to go to New York with her the first part of December.
I of course said yes!  I have never been to New York at Christmas time and it was as magical as I thought it would be.

We stayed with Taunya's sister Heidi in New Jersey for a couple of nights.
She was an amazing and generous host.
We went toured beautiful homes all decorated for Christmas in her hometown.

Later that night we took the subway and met Adrienne in the city....

to make wreaths at a ward Relief Society activity.
We all made one and it is currently on display at my house.
(99% of her ward are in their 20-30s)

We went shopping in Summit and Maplewood.  Beautiful towns!

We drove into the city the next day.  It took forever!  Traffic is just crazy!

New York knows how to celebrate Christmas!

We are standing in front of the Jimmy Fallon Tonight Show studio.
(That is what Adrienne is pointing at)
Taunya left out that detail.  Ha haha

The Rockefeller tree was amazing.

St. Peters Cathedral was beautiful.

Incredible windows at Bergdorf Goodman.

Fun Christmas market

We saw the Rockettes and loved it!

Times Square

We saw a fun play called The Fantasticks.

We stayed at Adrienne and Loren's apartment in Manhattan.  It is a darling, big, well decorated, and perfectly located apartment.  Adrienne is seriously the best tour guide.  We ate at the most fun places and cruised through the subways with ease.  Loren made us THE BEST pancakes on Sunday morning.  We attended their ward and I was so impressed.  Thank you Taunya for taking me.
It was an unforgettable trip!
 I heart New York!

November

Olivia went to JA (Junior Achievement) City downtown with her 5th grade class.
It is the coolest thing for these kids.  It is a mini city where they have real businesses that the kids run.  Liv was the CEO for Select Health.  She absolutely loved it!!  She had her own desk and kept very busy.  She even gave a speech.  I volunteered that day and loved watching her and the other kids act like adults for the day.

Here she is on KSL news advertising for her company.

Every Friday is late start (9:30am) for the middle school.
One Friday Dru hosted a breakfast for her cute friends.

One warm day I took the kids to my favorite childhood park.
I have sweet memories of eating bologna sandwiches and playing cards
with my Grandma Wheat at this park.
We call it the Cinderella Park.

Owen is loving afternoon Kindergarten with Mrs. Heldt and celebrating the seasons.
