A good friend of ours told us that when their children were little they
celebrated new years at Little America. We thought that sounded fun
so we gave it a try. It was pretty awesome.
Our kids told us that it has to be our new tradition!
We left in the afternoon on new year's eve and headed downtown.
Owen had been packed since early in the morning and tried to wait patiently.
We stopped at Cafe Rio and ran into Bonnie Oscarson who is the general young women's president.
She was so kind and sweet and posed for a picture with our girls.
We then headed to City Creek to do some serious window shopping.
At around 4 we checked into Little America.
Owen was exhausted at this point.
We checked out the stores inside the hotel.
We also went swimming.
They had a pool that went inside and outside.
The kids thought this was pretty cool.
It was FREEZING outside so they didn't last long on
this side of the pool.
We showered and went to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory.
Owen has some smell issues and preferred to eat at his own table.
We headed back to the hotel for some down time, exploring and more swimming.
We watched the ball drop at midnight.
We blew our horns and popped our poppers.
Lights out at 12:02.
Happy New Year!
We went to city creek for breakfast the next morning.
We woke up late and the line was too long for breakfast at the hotel.
We will have to catch it early next year!
