Glædelig jul!

For family home evening we learned about one of our Danish Ancestors.
Annie Christiansen from Denmark is from my mom's side of the family.  Annie had been taught by the LDS missionaries and knew she had found truth.  She walked 7 miles to see the missionaries off and ended up sneaking on the boat traveling to America leaving her family and everything behind.  She married one of the missionaries and later had 9 children.  She was an amazing person and lived an amazing life.

Taunya and Jim made us an authentic Danish dinner.  It was delicious!

I researched what a common Danish Christmas was like and we talked about their native traditions.  We each made a woven heart basket which is classic Christmas decoration.

Halloween Tea Party

The kids celebrated with Grandma and Grandpa Martin at the much anticipated Halloween tea party.
They ate spooky food and made some darling crafts.
This has become a fun tradition!

Last game for Fall

Rylie had her last game back in October on a windy day.
She ran hard with her tongue out most of the time.
We had just come from a baptism so Ryan is dressed up a bit.
It is pretty neat to see them both on the same field.

We will see this cute team in the Spring.
Go Green Girls!

The obsession lives on.

I just wanted to keep documenting this fun phase.
Owen is still obsessed with Mr Potato head.
It all began 2 years ago and is going strong.

Molly's baby blessing

My brother Bubba and his wife Brittany blessed their sweet little baby Molly this month.  It was great to be there and support them.  They have a beautiful family.

Sewing lessons

I taught sewing lessons four summers ago and loved it.
Then I had Owen who wanted all my attention and I was happy to give it to him.
Recently a good friend of mine wanted me to teach her darling daughter Kamryn.
Of course I said yes.
We made a pin cushion, bag, necklace, the apron she is wearing and the complete
outfit on the doll that is for her American Girl Doll.
Kamryn was a delight to teach and is a natural at sewing.

Halloween

Our ward puts on such a fun Halloween party every year!
Here is Owen with his new Friend Finley.

Our school puts on a carnival every Halloween that is awesome!
Liv and some of her cute friends.

Before we go trick or treating in our neighborhood we always go visit
the grandparents!
This was the first year we did not go as a family.
Olivia had already gone with a big group of friends and we dropped Dru off with friends before we set out to go with Rylie and Owen.
