Dru and Olivia earned their BUTLER BOBCAT AWARD! They have 3 opportunities to get it during the year and they did it on the very first time. I am so proud of them.

Liv was SO excited to get her award. She has been squealing about it for days. But, from the time we walked into the gym she was tied to my hip and practically in tears. She can be painfully shy. When they called her name I walked her up and she received the award. No smiles until after! It was hilarious to watch.
You can't see her face, but this is Dru getting her award.
Dru is not shy and even posed with Boomer the Bobcat.
Out in the hall we took another quick picture.
They were able to pick a book of their choice for earning this award.

Silly Scarves

Grandma Martin made each of the girls darling scarves for Christmas. You know, the kind of scarves that you wear beautifully around your neck. The girls have worn them around the neck, but they are mostly used as something else.
For example...
Rapunzel hair (pics below)
Dog leashes
gates
bandages for "fake" hurt arms
blankets for babies
wedding veils
rope for tying up each other
wrapping paper
etc!
The girls are so creative and I love to see there imaginations run wild.
My favorite is when I am able to sneak a peek at them playing when they don't know I am looking. They play so well together (for the most part) and I am loving the stage they are in.

Owen's Birthday Party

Owen had a sport's party for his big #1.
Everyone was such a good sport and came dressed up.
Owen had a great time considering a bummer week with 3 molars coming in.
Poor kid!

The invite
The hockey puck cake.
(ding dongs)
His first taste of something sweet. (lol, I wish)
Owen received so many generous and perfect gifts.
Thank you!

The guessing jar full of golf tees.
221 was the grand total.
Ryan drew these football players for a game.
We also had a sport's trivia game which Bubba won.
The prizes for the games were Gatorade.
The concession stands-
popcorn, licorice, candy, peanuts, pop, grapes (I had to have something healthy) potato chips, nachos and hotdogs.

Grandpa Jim came wearing this awesome shirt!
The fabulous guests!
Bubs, Britt and fam
Daniel and Megan and fam
Peanut and Shirley
Elisabeth and Alex
(this pic is hilarious)
Rylie and Elisabeth
Grandma and Grandpa Martin
Grandpa Steve and Grandma Kathy
Aunt Kim
The take away was Cracker Jacks with a tag that said,
"Thanks for being a good sport!"
Owen is now officially 52 weeks and I am officially done with the weekly pictures!

Owen turns 1

I {heart} Owen.
I remember sobbing when the doctor told me we were going to have a boy.
I couldn't believe it.
That seemed like yesterday.
Now Owen has been in our lives a whole year and we can't imagine life without him.
He completes our family.

What I always want to remember...

Owen is handsome. Really handsome, just like his dad.
Owen loves all his sisters and at the moment prefers Dru over anyone.
Owen is still an amazing sleeper and now loves to eat just about anything.
Owen can crawl. My only child to crawl.
He is still a good boy and really doesn't make a mess.
He is an easy baby.
Owen is starting to babble and can make a great belly laugh.
Owen loves to look at books, play with his car and anything small.
I am in love with his big eyes, big teeth and cute ears.
He makes my heart melt.
Words can't express my obsession with Owen Isaac Martin.

I love you O.

Thank you mom for watching the girls today. I couldn't have done this post without you.
I love being a mom because of you.

Before 3 of the kids got sick over the weekend we went ICE SKATING!
We live just seconds away from this ice skating rink and don't visit as much as we should. Perhaps it is better for Ryan's back that we don't!

All kids under 5 have to wear a helmet.
I was not opposed and thank goodness Rylie was not either.
The crew
We happened to see cute Carly B at the rink. She is a professional ice skater and felt lucky she took our girls for a spin.
We may be calling her for lessons!
Liv and Rylie patiently waiting for their turn.
Ryan was a good sport to take the girls out one at a time while I held Owen.
Rylie was exhausted by the end and needed a break.

Dru won the Legos and Literature contest at her school.
She built The Cat in the Hat and won a sweet Lego set.
I guess all those HOURS of playing Legos has finally paid off!
